Rojak" is a kind of food... it is neither Malay, Chinese or Indian food... it is a Malaysian food.
I do not know, or know anyone in Malaysia tracking the origin of "rojak". Perhaps it started as a Malay food, then the Chinese think putting some "cuttle fish" make it tastes better, the Indian strongly recommend "Indian ingredient" to give the food more kick.. and so the food evolves by itself...into so many varieties... and even gain popularity in Singapore (who always use Malaysian food to promote as their own food, hmm after all, they are once a part of Malaysia).

"Rojak" does not only evolves as a food, but a widely used word to mean " a mixture,in a disorder or unexpected ways and variation.
Non-Malaysian will have difficulty to use this word, as it does not simple mean "mixture" in its plain meaning. ??

The following picture was taken when I was back to my hometown, Segamat" in a waterfall resort, theGunung Ledang"

Look at the pool carefully, got it?
It is a pool of the "rojak" people.
