We visited Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa-ken

Kanazawa was one of the few major Japanese cities to be spared bombing during World War II due to its considerable heritage value.

We visited the most famous garden of Kanazawa, the Kenrokuen garden.
It is considered on of the "three most beautiful garden in Japan"..haha

"three of the most"...is a very typical way to rank place, food, etc in Japan.

Entering the world of "black and white"

The beauty really captured my heart that I totally forgot the coldness that started to bite into my naked fingers. (taking picture with gloves on was difficult)

This is the angle of some of the famous shot of Kenrakuen garden.

We later headed to Wajima, the town famous for its laquer and gold leaf production.

A laquer vase like this can easily costs you 5000 - 10000 yen. ($50-100")

The Wajima morning market. My friend wrote some interesting history of this morning market.

I will post some photos of the famous scenic sea-side view of Ishikawa in my next post.
