Chris had been talking about having a small barbecue since I was in Master 1.
Finally, his dream came true ( after nearly 2 years).

Chris didnt turned us down, because Yase, the place he had strongly recommended is much better than the usually crowded and the "lack of shade" Kamogawa river. (But, of course we dont have to pay for the Eizan train in the latter case)

Being an early bird really paid off, Chris got the best spot at 9am, 15 mins before me, and later we were joined by the Peruvian couple, Giancarlo and wife, Pillar (misspelled?), and of course the Minas, (Chris wife, and kids) completed the group after a while.

We were luckly to have 2 international chef. This was their first time outside the kitchen.

This is the Peruvian chef. What a pose! But he only supervises and tastes the food, NO COOKING.

From Peru.

Grilled Potatoes later served with Peruvian style chili sauce. Yummy

Grilled Beef Heart, again served with Peruvian style chili sauce.
I like this, it was chewy.

From Cyprus (Greeks)

Halloumi - a greek cheese. Yummy
I dont know if it is home made.

Grilled chicken

and the juicy lamb..:P

to be continued..

OK, I'm late in commenting but I will try to be "constructive".
First, AL sorry we could not reschedule, the day we had the BBQ was the noly avail. and you know firsthand how difficult is to organize a group of Kyodai students ;)
Second Chan, I haven't seen or hear of you for long time. I learn your achievements from others. I heart a rumor that you were spotted in a gay bar in San Francisco drinking with the Village People...
Third, my Mac friend:
* the spot I picked surely beats that overcrowded stinky no-shade Demachiyanagi-Kamogawa spot.
* it wasn't my first time out of the kitchen, BBQ is synonymous to GREEK! Check wikipedia for BBQ and you will see that it was invented by ancient Greeks (like everything else you enjoy today).
* actually Giancarlo did a good job grilling the anticucho (enter correct word in Spanish here) as well as the potatoes and the corn.
* Halloumi was not home made. Next time, if you behave, I will specially order one for you from my parents. I won't write about halloumi, check the article at wikipedia (Halloumi)
* what you refer as chicken is actually pork!!! I would say it was the least tasty of all the food we had. Lamb was excellent, though. Next time only lamb!!!
Well, that's all. We should plan another one, but knowing how busy we all are we will stay in planning!
