Buddha once told his student that he was just like any other man, being reborn and reborn so many times and since his enlightment, he could recall all his past lives.
His bewildered student then ask "If u could recall all your past lives, can you tell me how many times you have been reborned?"
Buddha smile and said " INFINITY " .
But of course, there was no such term as INFINITY at that time.
Buddha then explained INFINTIY in a way that lay man could understand :
** Imagine there is a big mountain of dust. You shall climb to the top, then with a strand of hair, gather as much as dust as you can. Descent the mount, wash the dust away in the stream. Repeat this once in every 10 years, until the whole mountain of dust becomes flat!! To flatten the mountain, you need INFINITY times of repetition. **

where did you get tht? The buddha picture is nice btw, the sunlight effect..
I wasnt aware you are Budhhist...
Most people do not have the chance to choose what they want to beleive in.
They simply become what they were borned as. Why mind to change ?
If they are borned in a Muslim family, then they will become a Muslim, and etc
I was borned a Buddhist but never really a good Buddhist. I am just interested in the ways some preachers use to explain Buddha`s teaching in scientific way.
