A rather bad day for outing since it was raining the whole day, and I had only 3 hours of sleep the night before.
This is my third time to the Osaka Kaiyukan Aquarium. There is hardly any changes since its establishment in 1998. The fish, penguins and sea otters still recognise me.
I particular like this building, but surprsingly this award winning building it is not Japanese designed. This building is designed by an American design firm, the Cambridge Seven Associates.
But the building next to this aquarium complex, the Sunotry Museum is designed by the world famous architect, Tadao Ando.
And yes, Tadao is best in precast concrete building.
The Antartica tank.
This is the King Penguin, not the Emperor Penguin.
Interesting fact : Penguins are monogamists, like human beings, they select their own partners,
get married and sometimes divorce and remarried.
Source of fact : http://www.kaiyukan.com/eng/life/index.htm
Sorry i dont know from which tank i took this photo.
This one as well.
This group of fish didnt move an inch when i snapped this photo.
One of my favourite tank, the sardines... in the Coast of Chile tank.
Pacific Ocean tank.. with 5400 Tons capacity!!
Japanese Deep Tank.. the creepy Giant Spider Crab.

Like the fourth and the last ones. They look like paintings!
i like the crabs. as if they were outerspace creatures.
I think I have turned into Ando fan without realizing that! Concrete, the signature! I have suspected that when we were at the basement carpark.
Sorry I love Suntory Museum building more than the Kaiyukan building. Might go to Suntory Museum again for Henri Cartier-Bresson photo exhibition...if only I have time to spare.
