Bon Voyage

I posted a "farewell post" for my friend Patrick who is going back to Malaysia for good, but instead of receiving his appreciation, my post was bombarded with critics.
"why did you put up the daisy photo in a farewell post? "
"why did you write in Malay and Hokkien?"

Here is my answer
"Daisy is less romantic than a rose, yet more charming than a chrysanthemum"

"I express my word best in Malay, and Hokkien is my mother-tounge"

OK, Pak Cik Patrcik, what else I can do for you?

Here I wish to translate what I wrote last time

*******
Sekadar hindangan pasta dan cappucino tidak mungkin dapat melangsaikan hutangan budi kepada sahabat ini. Semoga kepulangan kali ini ke lubuk sendiri akan menjanjikan hari-hari yang lebih mengembirakan. Moga-moga perjudian kali ini menjanjikan pulangan lumayan. Patrick, Ganbatte !

Sehingga berjumpa lagi.
*******

It is impossible to repay my gratitude to this friend of my with just a pasta and cappucino treat.
I hope that happier days are waiting for you back home.
I hope that you will win in this BIG BET of LIfe
All the best, Patrick

Hope to see u again

*********

It is pretty hard to translate these Hokkein phrase, but I will try my best
*********
Hokkien : " Jin sin u si ki, u si low, 3 hun ti chu tia, 7 hun kau pak pia, ai pia chia ee yia !! "
*********

English : "There is up and down in life; 30% of Life is destined, but the remaining 70% of Life depends on work hard- work.
"you can only win if you really fight for it"
